Since fans select the All-Star starters, the same 10 are virtual locks for the next 5-10 years. However, All-Stars reserves which are selected by coaches are usually held up to a hire standard.
Enter the Snubs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been one of the top teams in the NBA this season and it is understandable that they should have more than one player representing them in Phoenix.
Cavs Guard Mo Williams is one who got the snub when reserves were announced last night, which in turn made Ben Wallace deliver this gem to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.
“It’s a tragedy,” Ben Wallace said. “I think it’s an injustice. It’s a fraud. We’ve got the best record in the league, and we’ve only got one guy going. You always make it the next year, after the year you were supposed to make it. It’s a travesty and a sham and a mockery. It’s a shamockery.”
Heeeeelarious Ben, just heeeeelarious. Does anyone got a soundbite on this? Because if Big Ben said this with a serious tone of voice, that just makes it all the more hilarious.
